Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

All is well with the world

The number of DXC posts on this site has noticeably dropped of late.

Does this mean Mr Salvino is managing to turn things around, and people are intrinsically happier?

I just ran across my most recent pay increase notification. It'll be 5 years old in February. But I gather that's nothing...others haven't had a raise in 7 or 10 years? How is that not labor theft?

Nobody here expects automatic annual raises. It's pay for performance. But in so many cases, the performance has happened, even above and beyond expectations, but the pay has not followed. And compensation erodes yearly through higher cost of healthcare coverage (this year, higher copays) and cost of living in general.

Employees are screwed. It's December 19. Most people will be off next week and we haven't even gotten a holiday email. It's laughable now. No Xmas bonus, raise...nothing. Not even a plan in place. Time to leave this swamp.

Come on Mike Salvino please announce pay rises we are desperate now.

It seems to me there are two common issues running through the responses to this thread - management and money.

Should anyone from L2/L3 management read this, they should reflect on the level of frustration clearly held by DXC employees (those that remain at least), and bring pressure to bear on the man at the top to make amends.

Prior to his appointment, Mike Salvino won't have truly appreciated the level of frustration held by employees, and unlike the internal review process, sites like this generally provide a candid and honest opinion and cross section of views.

I sincerely hope management are listening, and do something sooner than later with regard to improving remuneration.

Despite feelings of loyalty and duty to it's customers, far too many decent tech resources have already thrown in the towel, and decided to move elsewhere.

You only have a short window to turn this company round.

Wouldn't you moan if you hadn't been given a rise in a decade and the company strategy on is most valuable asset was if you don't like it leave. I think it's a bit short sighted, someone at the top needs to listen to the employees and not incompetent levels of management.

Do you think Mike Salvino would work for nothing? These people need to get real.

And what are the metrics for getting a rise, why aren't they. Ring published, shocking really.

Post ID: @8qcf+12nCwF5z

@12nCwF5z-8tip two things:

1) It wouldn't stop the moaning

2) He has already stated that cross the board raises are not happening. Several times he repeated this.

Post ID: @8bdx+12nCwF5z

What if Sal said 5% rise for everyone as they haven't given one in years. Would that change morale, would it up productivity?

by
|
Post ID: @8tip+12nCwF5z

No it doesn't, there are just less people and more work. It doesn't help o complain on this site because it doesn't make a difference. You want to make it known there are major issues, go to twitter or LinkedIn and comment on the b-ll c-ap they put out.

But use an alias account, cause if you don't you will be fired sooner than you can say the new Mike

@6wkf: I left because there were no pay rises, and DXC had actually cut my take-home pay like clockwork every six months and I wasn't going to hang around for the next cut.

I left because the guy in charge, Mike Gillis, was an absolute joke: his idea of running Eclipse was to issue huge waffling email missives that said very little in so very many words. Also Gillis was a spineless jerk: where there was bad news to deliver, he buried it very quickly it so many other words. I left because my section, which was successful, had client trust AND we mostly kept our promises (or kept the customer informed if things were going off the rails) was going to be broken up because it didn't fit into Mr Waffle-A-Lot's grand scheme of things. His replacement plan, though, made no sense to anyone and no customer wanted to buy into it.

I left because the guy running the development side of things decided to retitle everyone, and in doing so eliminated probably the part of the job I enjoyed the most.

Finally, I left because I was sick of the stress it was causing.

Post ID: @6ygq+12nCwF5z

@5zuu: not doubting that D365 is a growth area but Eclipse folks are a bunch of liars that are unable to deliver on their promises. Why did you leave them for greener pastures?

by
|
Post ID: @6wkf+12nCwF5z

@5kgw, I'm ex-Eclipse, and I'd like to understand where you are coming from. Why do you feel that Eclipse is a waste of space? Microsoft Dynamics is a hot growth area, with lost of customers making the move to D365, and those that stay on earlier versions reasonably profitable, too.

by
|
Post ID: @5zuu+12nCwF5z

If Sal has inherited a dead cat pile of dung from Mikey then Sal had a choice to make and obviously elected to run the DXC Looney Asylum. His choice, not Mikey's, although Old Mike will soon be drinking beers at Palm Beach.

My experience of Eclipse is that they are as big a waste of space as MPhasis. All that oxygen being wasted on both of these dodgy brands.

Post ID: @5kgw+12nCwF5z

They have been taking on a lot of ex Accenture execs. Must be costing a fair bit, how can we afford them?

What's happening to the dead would they are brought into replace? When are the dead wood getting the boot?

Is it just more layers of management who will add yet more overhead and processes?

We need efficient, agile, and pay rises not overheads that are non productive.

Not a lie from where I am sitting - I have seen zero layoffs since Sal arrived.

Maybe I don't have 100% visibility but I'm telling you the truth as far as I know it.

by
|
Post ID: @5qts+12nCwF5z

@12nCwF5z-1syx

That is 100% a lie and you know it. All the LPI plays committed before Sal are still in play. Why did DXC speak to the new improved 2 week notice for US employees vs the usual 1 day.

Come on man.

Some accounts were preparing list of those that needed to be taken care of, to protect the business. Then the news of re-instating annual raises came. Those original plans are now delayed. Sadly, this feels like yet another trust me for 2 more quarters, I promise it will get better.

It let a lot of hope for change escape, at least for me and those that I know.

Let's talk pay rises please. Only 64% filled out the survey, everyone is fed up filling out stuff. Most won't mention pay in case they are victims.

@3eqs: Are you for real? A bunch of Eclipse NA people gone? Can you share some details, like last names?

by
|
Post ID: @3wyq+12nCwF5z

Wouldn't be amazing a pay rise in 11 years, when you tell other people you've not had a rise for so long they don't believe you but it's how low things have stooped on top of all the policies and regulations you get shafted with.

Come on Mike S show us you mean business and end the austerity for the employees, maybe reduce the stock options for management. It's the season of compassion and good to all.

This is how you find out your Project Coordinator has been let go -

CO1NAM05FT047.mail.protection.outlook.com rejected your message to the following email addresses:

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

A communication failure occurred during the delivery of this message. Please try resending the message later. If the problem continues, contact your email admin.
CO1NAM05FT047.mail.protection.outlook.com gave this error:
Recipient address rejected: Access denied [CO1NAM05FT047.eop-nam05.prod.protection.outlook.com]

They just let a bunch of PMs and PCs go on the NA Eclipse Team. Shameful.

I had faith in a positive change for about 2 weeks. Sal said all the right things...and did NOTHING about it. All he had to do was give an across the board 5% raise to all employees. The goodwill and moral increase would've been amazing. Instead, they sent out another survey (why another one, just use the one you ignored from last year), did nothing w/ the results (at least not yet) and are giving no pay increases or bonuses. Sal struck out.

I'm a realist @12nCwF5z-3zwz.

Sure I am cynical - who wouldn't be after all of the years of abuse from Mikey.

However, I think Salvino has to have a different strategy because if he doesn't then the company is literally ended.

I can't force Salvino to give me a rise, moaning about it isn't going to make any difference.

At the moment I can see a thaw in the world - its either Spring or a global climate change catastrophe. Currently I'm so punch dr*nk I'd accept either.

If your real ie not management after 10years of payouts ie more than 25% of your working life, if Sal was a fair person that would be one of the first things you would expect him to fix. If your happy with not getting a rise for the next 10 years like a s—er keep on believing the management spin that they need to do other things in the strategy.

Watch Sal's lips move = he is a liar.

Post ID: @3tne+12nCwF5z

@12nCwF5z-2frd - management - don't make me laugh.

I am an ex-CSC pleb and I haven't had a pay rise in 10 years - just like the rest of the CSC survivors.

I still recommend you listen to Salvino - you gain nothing by hiding under your desk.

Until he's proven to be a liar, it's probably worth taking him at his word - Mikey never had a word to take him at, he was aggressive and nasty from day 1.

|
Post ID: @3osk+12nCwF5z

Your obviously Management so getting your rises bonuses. What about the rest of us who are on year after year of paycuts whilst the fat cats don't have a problem getting more whether they perform or not.
Maybe management should take a cut.

You need to get realistic, doesn't matter how good you perform, what you do, there's excuses when it comes to rewarding staff. Mike S needs to put it up front that he will not put up with staff not been given a fair pay rise like other companies do.

Doesn't need a rock scientists plan for that.

Post ID: @2frd+12nCwF5z

@12nCwF5z-2yje that the new plan begins in April is not a secret - listen to the playbacks of the various calls Salvino has had with employees - they are all there for you to listen to.

He's not like Mikey, keeping away from employees and trying to ensure everything he says doesn't get around...

What is the plan? This we don't know yet, but its going to be very different to the line pursued before.

Does that mean we all get a pay rise in April? No it doesn't. Again he's been very clear about that - if you are recognised as a high performer, you will get a financial reward.

I'd really recommend you go listen to what he says if you want to understand where this is going - its not a secret.

Post ID: @2ubm+12nCwF5z

Hmm, Salvino's been 4 months in post so far, and of late, externally DXC hasn't published much of substance to say how it's going to turn things round. I'm guessing from the responses to this post so far, nothing much has been published internally either.

If, as someone suggests, plans are to be published in April (still 3 months hence), then they must be pretty seismic, else why not give employees some earlier indication and encouragement, to show the new bosses do have a strategy.

Would any Level 2 - 3 managers care to comment (anonymously)?

Post ID: @2yje+12nCwF5z

How come it doesn't take time to find millions for Mike Lawrie, Mike Salvino, Paul Saleh, and other management. All the staff transferred to At&t get rides and bonuses every year for the last 6 years.

Just lame excuses nobody is buying the talk anymore until they are paid a fairly. If they want to turn this company around they need to motivate and pay staff not stuff them.

@1hhn, it will take time to find money for salary hikes? How come supporting Team Penske is more important than supporting employees?

by

Post ID: @1gif+12nCwF5z

DXC still using musical chairs for the senior CSC dead weight. And the lack of profits show every qtr. All smoke & mirrors and this frankenfirm will have huge WFR redundancies and then fade off into the acquisition sunset.

Post ID: @1vvj+12nCwF5z

I am enjoying the silence until posts like this come up trying to wake us up from a good dream. I know MS will make things better. He was dealt a pile of dung. It takes time to find money to pay for salary hikes. Best thing we can do great work with customers to make that possible. Spare me with the trolling and name calling as a reply. We all are entitled to our choices.

by
|
Post ID: @1hhn+12nCwF5z

Nobody is being axed right now - that has paused.

The new plan doesn't appear until April - then we can all have a moan again.

Its an uneasy truce at the moment.

I'm surprised though we haven't seen anyone moaning about their job title changing yet...

Post ID: @1dbi+12nCwF5z

We've all left and are getting on with more productive lives elsewhere - as for DXC, well its busy shrinking itself by a further 25% as per Mike v2 plans, removing its relevance from whole areas of IT services

Post ID: @1fol+12nCwF5z

Mike Salvino just talking the talk. When you get no salary rise for years that's the first thing he should have awarded to improve productivity and morale.

Like Mike L the management will just milk millions, nothing has changed at all.
