Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Respect for the individual..NOT

What I owe Sam's Club. To work my scheduled hours doing whatever I am asked / told to do. What Sam's Club owes me. To be there to let me in on time to start my scheduled shift and to allow me to clock out at the end of my scheduled shift. Yes they OWE me to be able to leave on time !! Too often the management displays disrespect for the individual by suddenly demanding time consuming work to be started mere minutes before the end of a scheduled shift as if you as an individual MUST stay over and get it done just because their voice has commanded it.

Again I say they owe it to us to let us go on schedule and to not interfere with that by adding last minute tasks. I personally believe it is an ethics issue to continually add tasks immediately prior to the scheduled end of shift. Just my two cents.

I just told my manager that I’m trying to follow block schedule they give us. So they should follow it too. It’s not our fault if they are shorts in different department. It’s not our fault if HO are visiting and the floor is a mess. They been firing our associates but they don’t hired. They keep on adding tasks to us but never increase our pay. We are not slave we are not robot hired more associates and stop firing them.

Is it against any laws that when company from home office is coming to visit club they make us stay until 1:30 am then come back at 4 am because we still need more stocking and cleaning that needs to be done before visit. We are not robots, this is actually scary because some partners have 40 minutes drive from home to club. I worry about someone falling asleep at the wheel, and for what?? To save the managers from getting fired for bad visits. Home office needs to make un announced visits, and see what club really look like and hold them accountable as we are. Just saying.....

actually the company policy is that they can not require you stay over your schedule or make you change your schedule without at least 24 hours notice..they are supposed to ask you ..so the smart on with the job description comment needs to sit down and be quiet..

people on here act like if you question management or demand to be treated like a human that you are a whiner or lazy or something..nope that is not the case..management has rules they are supposed to follow just like we do..

Your schedule is your schedule. Report to the EEOC. They will jump right on that with walmart. Happening in one club, its happening in 95% of the others. Sam's has gotten infamous with making hourly associates stay after their scheduled shift is over and if you complain, you suddenly have "productivity" issues and they proceed to work on getting us fired. Even when they & we know it's not right. Also infamous for locking associates in after they have punched out and for not opening the doors to let us in before the start of our shift and not being late.

My old manager was horrible about this! I once had an appointment that I had already rescheduled for them once. I had it for 30 min after I was scheduled off. He had called in the vine guy to come in and train without telling me. He shows up at noon and I was getting off at 2. I told them I had an appointment and I'm not missing it again. So of course training was not finished, and they expected me to stay. Nope! I clocked out and left. He was so bad and scheduling anything. The whole area knew that once the end of shift was approaching, we had to hurry and clean up and sneak through different areas of the club to avoid him because he would 100% give you another task and expect you to stay. The worse thing is that he wouldn't ask much of you before that... But suddenly there were lots of things he decided needed to be taken care of.. ugh I'm glad I don't work with him anymore.

You have every right to expect that! I know they probably pay hourly, do you get time and a half at least?
