Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Layoffs of Xerox employees transitioned to HCL

I am sincerely hoping there are fewer layoffs of Xerox employees transitioned to HCL or the end result will not be a savings in labor but a massive loss of revenue. I have seen with other companies who have taken this path is not a good omen. Disney outsourced to HCL also. Disney World’s newest Star Wars ride “Rise of the Resistance” is consistency down multiple times day. It is almost as big a cluster xxxx as Boeing 737 Max. Check your facts if your reply indicates that HCL is not involved is this latest mess.
At least people’s aren’t at stake on this one

If youreside in New York state, get transitioned to HCL, train someone else to do your job, and then are “let go” —- can you file for unemployment?

@3uag from Stewart, don't worry they'll be coming soon and you will step into the hell a lot of us are in, working with Guatemala is the most frustrating work experience ever, I envy the people in my core so far who just got their severence, 2nd half of bonus payout and unemployment, they are so happy, I am doing 3 times the work for the same pay, Guatemala will not follow direction, is run by guys who I know think they are superior to women, they work with NO sense of urgency, make a ton of mistakes and will yes you to death but not listen to what you tell them to do, I just can't wait to get the hell out!!

Don't kid yourself. It matters not if the job can be done overseas or not. It will happen.

Stewart( who merged with Conestoga) in NJ has made it past the 6 month mark with the HCL transitioned folks. We received a bonus and are safe from layoff I believe until end of 1st quarter. HCL has not come here yet and I feel as tho there is no way they can takeobe what we do to Guatemala! We're sticking it out until we get out 60 day notices. Its business as usual.

If your interested in moving on their are jobs. Reach out to other print companies, OEMs, Remans... there are jobs. In fact use LinkedIn and connect with people. LinkedIn is about building networks and reaching out for connections.

Layoffs will continue. All admin work will be in Guatemala within 6 months. That's what we were told 12/6/19. Those of us that were rebadged to HCL will be gone. B

HCL is keeping on SME's probably for 6 months then they will be let go, core champions will.not be let go as they will be the point of contact/liason between cores and overseas

HCL transitioned employee’s are going to be laid off
That’s a fact
Perhaps as much as 5% will remain to be in SME or clean up roles until HCL feels they have the portion of business in question under control
The only reason hundreds or even thousands still are employed by HCL is because they are having a very difficult learning curve with many portions of the business.
It’s not the repetitive issues they have problem with, it’s the exceptions of daily business. It’s difficult because Xerox has always been slack about process and every department or section of business runs all their own systems and rules created by a guy or girl that was on that team sometime in the 80’s or earlier
No other portion of the company even knows how it works let alone a company from India.
Nobody will ever figure the sxxxshow out we call Xerox so HCL is DELAYED. They will get to a point they think they can meet eventually because they have to but it will never be what it should have been but nobody else as a single entity could do it either.
Employees will get a little more time than was first expected but it’s not going to stop the inevitable.
In time, and not years from now but weeks to months, the HCL transitioned teams will be gone.

Anyone promised to come back to Xerox from HCL is facing disappointment. Xerox can't per the terms with HCL. A few cores already tried and now Xerox is telling other cores to not try it either.

They don’t care about Service or Customer or the long term consequences. The contract between HCL & Xerox contains a clause allowing HCL to offshore once they meet certain criteria. This is how HCL makes money. HCL’s leaked memo clearly stated that 98% of FTE’s will move offshore, which is considered a win for them.
