Vacation while furloughed

Been laid off from NS for a couple of months now. Can I still be able to put in for vacation for 2020? I have 3 weeks due and would like to get paid for them the first three weeks of the year, since I will probably never get called back to work.

Back in 2018 when I was layed off I put in for all my remaining vacation of 2018 and my 2019 vacation and was paid within the first week of unemployment so no loss of unemployment and no you don’t sign your rights away. I was called back 3 months later, just didn’t have any vacation this year since I had sold it.

Yes, you can take a couple of days a month and they'll subtract it off you unemployment and you will also have to pay union dues

You’ll get paid but it won’t be until the end of 2020. Only way to get paid before that is to quit and sign your rights away, otherwise just wait

You will get paid for them by December 2020 if you qualified

You can get them but you have to resign and give up rights to being called back essentially quit on paper. You also lose all benefits such as unemployment at the moment you sign

no. you have no job with NS so you have no vacation. if it helps just take the first 3 weeks anyway that will show them.
