I noticed the job board on the east coast that all the jobs disappeared 👻! It’s down to like 4 jobs per store ! Xmas isn’t even over. Just seems like a blood bath is coming. Plus they are closing two lord and Taylor stores in N.J ! Is the the beginning of the nose dive ?

Layoffs and store closures are definitely coming. Its probably going to be major realignment. Stay tuned.

Oh good grief....Christmas is DAYS away. It’s too late to hire anyone else and get them trained to work. This is NORMAL actions at this time of year. Stores don’t hire regulars this time of year either.
Bottom line, Jeff has mismanaged our company. The guy that did the most damage, (Hal) departed. Let's face it, too much debt to bail us out. We see the writing on the wall.

Not just seasonal jobs, also incumbent positions which do not include all of the executive positions currently frozen and going uncovered or filled by temp workers. Hearing significant hours and staffing reductions next year at all levels in line with sales trends and needed streamlining.
Jeff will share more details about what the company plans to do with stores at under performing malls at a February analyst meeting, which means that announcements internally will be made in early January. No real news here other than more changes at the start of the year as we have historically done, just as more transactions move online, there is less of a need for the same store footprint.
Businesses change and evolve and retail as a whole and not just Macy's is in a state of flux. Leaders will do what needs to be done to take Macy's into the future and continue to serve the changing needs of our customers and hopefully find a way back to growth.
there is no more hiring as all seasonal jobs and regular have been disapproved. there are also not many hours in many stores. they went over the HUR and not making plan.
