Thread regarding SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. layoffs

Interesting:

In most states, including Florida, private sector employers are not required to provide vacation, whether paid or unpaid, to employees. Therefore, employers have significant discretion in developing vacation and personal leave policies that best fit the needs of their workplace and employees.
If promised, vacation must be granted. Nonetheless, it is important for employers to understand that, if their practices, policies, or statements rise to the level of creating a “promise” of vacation, then the employer may create a binding legal obligation to provide vacation—even when state law would not otherwise require it to do so.
Payout of vacation at termination. This caution also applies to obligations to pay out accrued, but unused, vacation time at termination of employment.

Back in the Flipper days fear was used as a training method. At BGT, years ago, the elephants and chimps were trained using fear.
Now positive reinforcement is the method of choice.....for the animals.
The elephant and chimpanzee show is long gone, but this company still keeps it's "ambassadors" well in line with fear. Our positive reinforcements are rapidly dwindling away.
One of the elephants figured out it had more power, but we're far too ignorant.

Please know Scott Ross and Hill Path haven't lost a moment's rest taking away the vacation you and everyone else with 15-40 years of service have earned. They don't care about anything except how they line THEIR pockets.

No matter what they call it....it is earned or accrued. It is also promised in the terms explained in their stupid PTO meetings. When you leave they are required to pay you for what you've earned or accrued.
Yes, it certainly is a loss. That's what happens when we do nothing.

How about what they are doing is against the law. If vacation is promised and earned.....they, by law, have to pay you when you exit.
Is that easier for you to understand?
In these meetings they are saying something totally different and I know someone that recently left with two weeks that they refused to pay.
This ain't sending a Tesla to space.

So what is your point with all this intellectual jargon, we have been taken advantage of by the establishment and the big people. But remember one day everyone has to answer to someone greater than themselves . wouldnt want to be the one who has to answer to God and why you trampled all over hard working people trying to make a living and raise a family
For every action there are consequences and every dog has there day.
