Finally pulled the plug - I’m done!! This company doesn’t deserve any of the great people it has working for it.

A lot of people are doing the same thing. It's not all about money though. They like to hide behind the whole "we don't have the business to support high wages" and "we aren't Disney or Universal" when most people would stay if they were happy. Bad management across the board here.
If you have over 20 years can you technically retire rather than quit? Not familiar with that policy.
The opinion of the new powers that be is that people who’ve worked for the company a long time, especially over 20 years, need to go. Hopefully I’ll be one of them soon. Good luck anonymous!

They spent about five years thinning the longevity "ambassadors."
My then supervisor was one of the first to go. He said he was shown a document giving the number of years in service per laid off employee. Approximately 50 percent were over 20 years and the other half less than a year. Some just a few weeks to a month. They wanted him to know they weren't JUST laying off their experienced people.
Some of these employees were hired to be laid off in my humble opinion.
Now they feel comfortable enough to have their way with us. Five years ago and people would have possibly headed to the sign carrying signs, but it won't happen now.
Congratulations! You have done the right thing. You should write a book about how SW treats their animals better than their Ambassadors. You'd, at least, sell one copy.
You’re doing exactly what they want people to do. The new PTO, all the changes...it’s to entice people to quit. I don’t know how they expect to get new talent in the door though, there are no perks to working here.
