San Fran move might be like when the clerks were moved to St. Louis out of the field many took the buy out because there was no way they were going to move to STL.....a lot of HQ ppl would be the same way moving from Omaha to San Fran.....
SP headquarters was in San Francisco. UP owns the building. It’s going to be an easy move. WC next hump to close after ft worth

He don’t care how much it costs. He wants it in San Francisco
15 years to hold a mechanical job
The company isn’t moving to California it cost more there then staying in the middle of nowhere Omaha would ever cost. That one decision would cost him his job instantly between the corporate taxes, other bs taxes you have to pay, astronomical land prices, and extremely high cost of living they would have an extremely hard time staffing that place let alone getting anyone to move there. Ifyou honestly think that’s going to happen I know a guy that’s got some ocean front property in Arizona for you to buy.
If the big wigs are heading your direction then they're shutting down the hump yard.
The StraightUp truth is Lance wants to move the company headquarters to San Francisco. He’s not concerned with Fort Worth. He’s very interested in San Francisco.
If you don’t have many left under you honest advice is to start getting your stuff together for applications. They don’t want to invest in the company anymore employee wise in fact they are trying to figure out how to do everything with the bare minimum and if they keep upping the number of locomotives they are putting into storage you should definitely expect them to keep cutting the mechanical department staff well past the hemorrhaging point that’s the PSR way. Rumors were of you had at least 10 years in you “MIGHT” make it but even then that is doubtful the way they are randomly shutting down maintenance facilities and cutting to bare minimum doesn’t bode well for any craft especially if they think they can make do with less
I heard it’s getting so bad, they are having to lay-off the 5-6 raccoons, and all the cats across the street.
