Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Moving Jobs to Argentina and India

How about when you are training your “backup” AKA your replacement overseas? You know that you are next out the door. The company looks so nice from the outside but at the end is just a greedy business focused on the money and cheap labor. The company does not care for the employees.

Yes I was laid off last summer after training Manila for months prior. It’s not a rumor. I was with Chase for 11 years. Good luck!

The last time I checked, JPMorgan was a global company and employed over 200,000 people in the U.S. If you owned a business and had an employee that refused to help their peers, admitted they do not care about anything except a severance, would you really want that person to continue to work for you? Perhaps having employees who care about their job and want to succeed is the better option. Regardless of their nationality.

Our Department at Chase hired a team in Manila. They told us not to worry because they would only be doing low level work and could not do our jobs. My manager admitted this week that they are indeed starting to train the team in Manila to do our job. In a meeting the manager in charge of the outsourcing project went on and on about how great the employees in Manila are. He said they all have college degrees including some with masters degrees. At the end of the meeting they told us we should help our "neighbors" in Manila learn the job. I notified my manager that I will have nothing to do with training the team in Maila. They can lay me off, but they are not taking my dignity. It's only a job. All I care about is getting my severance when they kick me to the curb. By the time it all blows up in their face I will be long gone.

Just call the TAA office in your state. They do all the work.

How do you file this petition? Do you need a lawyer to do that? Has anybody tried to sue the firm for that. Either age or racial discrimination or discrimination based on nationality?

Look into TAA. Get extra months of unemployment, training, and health insurance savings.
