Kmart used to pay for short term disability for full time employees. I had to have surgery and they paid 70% of my wages and it came from SHC (I believe Cigna was the insurance company that made the determination). This was in 2017 and it was the biggest pain in the a– I have ever lived through to get it processed. Cigna approved the claim and then my local HR at the store had to pay me when she did payroll, the only problem is she had NO clue how to do it. After hours on the phone and emails galore I finally was paid everything I was owned one week before returning to work. A co-worker of mine went out on maternity leave 1 month before we closed, she was entitled to short term pay as well, at least this time HR knew how to process the claim!! Now that it’s transformco I have no clue if the same insurance is offered.
First do you pay for disability benefits . If you don’t than you can’t claim . It’s not paid for by sears. If you can never work again you can file with social security administration. I hope this helps
Manager, HR contact or 88sears.com?!?!?!?
Short term or long term? Contact the company that holds the policy. Should be in your paperwork. You can call the state for guidance but I believe the Massachusetts state disability doesn't come into effect until 2021 even though we're contributing now. You can try 88 sears. Your manager could be contacted by you But you'll probably get the run around. You could skip over her and go to the Pittsburgh market leader, I guess..
My pe–swhat brings all the boys to the yard to make sure I'm okay! All I gotta do is sign my life away.
Good luck with that, now that your a liability risk to Sears they will find a way to dispose of your employment one way or another. If you can't sell your trash.
Aflac. If you get hurt and miss work, it won't hurt to miss work.
It depends. If you were hurt at work then talk to your manager and call 88 sears. If you were hurt outside of work and your state does not have disability insurance then call 88 sears. If your state does have disability insurance then you would contact them
