Compensation should be given if you were hired and that was part of the deal

How can they pull car without providing some form of compensation? Especially, if your car was pulled, but others in your group still have theirs........

I was let go a few years back. Had a company car for 25 years + until it was taken away. I made sure that I had 16K+ legit business miles on it per year. There was no $$ compensation for losing the car in any way. A while later I was RIF'd. I guessed that the thinking was that if there are less cars, there is less car expense, less meals on the road, less hotels, less entertaining. Taking the car away has a ripple effect thru expenses.

Fleet has said you must have around 12,000 Business Miles or you lose your vehicle. I know that some employees this last year were under that amount and are keeping their cars. However, AIG is looking more now to have visits done through conference calls and webinars, webex meetings. And if a meeting needs to take place they want you to rent or use your own vehicle. They are going to be tracking this more closely over the next 3 Qrt's.

What business line do you support? Do you need to visit clients as part of your job? Is AIG giving you any compensation for taking your car? Please provide more details.

It depends on what representations were made to you when you when provided with the car. If you have anything in writing stating that the car was part of your benefit package, then you may have legal recourse, I’m assuming that AIG is taking away the cars because there are no longer clients to visit, Maybe you can Uber to visit with the few clients remaining clients. I would suggest that you start looking for a job. If AIG is not willing to provide you will the tools to do your job, the writing is on the wall.

Does this include BDMs who use the cars to make agency calls?

Even if you were hired with a car as a benefit, they aren't going to compensate you in anyway. I wonder if there is any legal action we can take

Yes a mass e-mail went out to a lot of employees with cars today. They are losing the cars as of 3/31. They also aren't being compensated in anyway, even though they were hired with that as a benefit.
