If you are Ni.ge.rian and work in N—ria as a Petro tech you can easily have a million or 2 after 6 to 8 years, you can check this with your friends it is 100% true due to union laws over there.

  • 1hhj, The maximum severance possible is 52 weeks, no matter if you worked for 50 years or more. It’s one year max. The only exception to that rule is if you have a contract that says it could me more.

Best way is to change company during the upside every few years get a sweet sign on bonus each time and ride off the down turn, ask for options to sweeten your entry package, you have to switch between small independents and larger ones in perfect timing, milk the cow baby!

It is capped at 52 weeks at most, also those good old days that you could have 4 to 5 expand assignments or more through your career with Chevron is gone, if you are lucky you get one or two, not much assets are left overseas unless you are not in the upstream.

Two years salary would be great, but wouldn't that require 52 years of service? (two weeks per year of service, 52x2=104 weeks=2 years severance). For most of us that would mean retiring around age 75-80.
