Blind Boeckman. Clueless Carlos. 11 other clueless check cashing Board members. Skanks and cover-uppers across Human Resources. A refusal for multiple decades to recognize civil rights, much less any level of diversity. Racist foreign leaders. White white white white execs. A buddy system that causes so many good people to be fired as worthless pals are protected. This is Fluor. And this is why the stock tanked and their business practices were shown as corrupt. Fluor is the classic portrait of a top heavy corporation. More managers and directors than there are worker bees to lead. Their old company motto "Our employees are our greatest asset.... " Bla Bla Bla. Their real motto is clear. Scan the Horizon for big jobs, Hire big, layoff big when complete.
And if you are able to sustain any longevity there it's certain you are underpaid. When the people there feel they are lucky to have Mama Fluor looking after you, it's easy to overlook that you are paid 20-30% less than the rest of the city. It's a nice place to visit. But...
Lack of diversity is not helping the org. Not sure what the issue is with women. Fluor has some terrible leadership apparently and too much down and layers. Need an expert from outside fluor to help right the ship.
Promoting women worst decision any company can make
What happened to all of the women who were promoted? They have been demoted, sent back to projects and replaced with the old white guys. Nothing has been done fix our issues.
So sad. I was so hopeful real change would be made.
From what I've seen, the new changes reek of good ol boy system I thought we were getting away from. . We now have a piper as chief engineering officer. Get out while you can
