I have it on very good authority that there will be another shop announced to close before ROA is closed. Conway will absorb most of their work along with Enola. How sweet it is?!??!! More choo choos headed our way! We can do the work Mr. Farrell! Keep em coming. Heard they will be calling some people back here soon, just hope that lazy pf we had isn’t one of them!! Look daddy isn’t gonna protect you anymore!!! Hiding on locos and in locker rooms on his blasted phone all the dang time!!!! Enough!!!!!!!!!!!! Conway is King but you already knew that!!!

I think Adrian should be on the Conway Hall of Shame!
Thank you once again ADRIAN!!! Without your keen insight and countless contacts in the deep structure of corporate we would be in the dark on all of these matters. Thank you for keeping us little people who are only pawns in the rich mans game informed. We are so ever grateful for your sc-aps of info you drop on the floor for us to devour.
Hahaha Conway isn’t even a system shop anymore...they barely keep 5 engines in shop....yeaaahhhhhh Conway is kinnggg!...uhhhh no
Progress Rail is a sh**hole too so maybe we’ll be in luck, won’t be no different than working for NS
I believe you are correct. RLS I believe will be Progress Rail in the near future. I mean look at all the locomotives they are buying from NS. Maybe some us can latch on with them?
Roanoke sounds like a great place for Progress Rail or some other company to buy up next...
How many people are even left in Conway now days in the shops? I have heard it is a ghost town and that they dont even do quarterly inspections now.
RLS and SCX are nowhere near similar aside from being in the same city and less than a mile apart. They do 2 totally different types of work on Loco's. Only 1 has a fuel pad and a Call office and that's the one they kept. So you can't use the saying it makee no sense to have 2 shops close to one another. All that said, Conway is the next shop to go from what sources I have. We will all find out soon enough though.
It doesn’t matter how new a facility is or how much money was poured into it. They make whatever decision they want. Want examples? Shaffer’s hump had just got new r—ders put in, then closed, RLS had new 150 ton cranes put in, 7 new CNC’s, new decking for turntable, new pit in fab shop, new crane/raised roof in thaw shed, main office renovated, new lights.... Then closed.
Conway is getting the ax. Doesn’t make sense to have two Locomotive shops within 2 1/2 hrs from each other. Same reason Roanoke was taken out.
That shop you are speaking of getting shut down other than ROA is Conway. Congrats Adrian. I'm personally going to deliver your salary to my checking account right now. Keep those bonuses coming fellas.
It is business not quality- shaffers
It's a small shop but modern. One of, if not the newer/newest shops on the system.
What is the Conway shop capacity? pictures show only 3 bay doors? Is that like 6 or 9 units under roof then. Is that a big shop for NS? If pictures are right it looks like Conway would fit into the Roanoke facility 2 times.
What an a– wipe. So that will get the shop count up to 10 locomotives.
Jun is absorbing the work sorry
That's right! Conway is King!!!!
Call some back? LMAO! That's a good one right there!
If Conway is King, you must be the Queen!
