Heard Yesterday that Stage is closing a bunch of stores. List should be out today.

Just closed a Pebbles in Maryland in January and opened a Gordmans in the same space.
This was actually the second round of mass corporate layoffs. The first round was in the summer of 2019. Stage basically cut the team in half, then cut it in half again. Most affected were experienced employees with high salaries. Corporate is operating on a depressed skeleton crew now.
It’s the beginning of the end for Stage.
Good riddens. They can take Burlington with them.
Approximately 250 stores are set to close. Store managers were notified via conference call. Stage is making no comment. Stores were successful stores, not poor performance stores.
Just had MASS layoffs at corporate today, mostly people who had been there for many many years.
