How are ops being handled and why different to everywhere else? No communication, just whispers still

I have two colleagues (who were reasonably happy) now actively calling their contacts (HSBC etc).
The lack of corporate communications and that colleagues just disappear is impacting morale. When you add in the recent salary reviews - not great. I also read more job losses planned for April!
I doubt any of the Op's departments will get told until Friday... They don't want a week's worth of work affected by the moral.
On the plus side, HSBC are specifically targeting SS&C employees in the UK for when Schroders migrate over to them at the end of Spring
Trying to keep it under radar so the worker bees keep on working.
Someone on my team was swiftly led away and have not returned today. No one being told anything and a very odd atmosphere. What i do not understand is that person was an experienced good worker with loads of knowledge been with the company for about 3 years however we have a new starter next week on our team for the same position as the person who they just made redundant! It does not make sense at all as the new person is external so will not have any knowledge at all! Terrible move .. Very unsettling
