Stay home and self quarantine when sick during coronavirus outbreak per medical expert Dr David Agus on CBS news

Said if everyone goes to doctor it will overwhelm the system. If you don’t feel better after a few days then go to the doctor. This is in direct conflict with the “experts” at UP that think everyone should go to the doctor immediately and get a note just to provide proof. So basically follow the advice of the CDC and other medical experts and stay home if you’re sick. You don’t need to go to the doctor and overwhelm the system. If you don’t get better then go to the doctor.

How exactly do we sell quarantine when we have no sick days, then barely any vacation days. What we really have is 2 weeks of sick leave. Then when we use our vacation as sick leave, when we get back to work, still sick, we get sh– from manager and our coworker. How about UP gives people sick leave and everyone be understanding when someone is home sick.

IT workers have it easy. If management likes you extra, just pretend to work from home, call in for a 5 min conference call. And you “worked” for the day. No meed to call in sick. He$$, go on vacation even. People do it. Management knows it and allows their favorites to continue this. And if you are sick, same concept. Log in for one minute and you’ve done a whole day’s work. No doctor note needed. Keep in mind, this only works for the special favorites on your teams.
