Oh it’s Mr. “I know you are, but what am I” again. Probably a Dotard supporting id–t.
@5vhg, And they have long since reached that exact conclusion about you. About time that you caught up.
I resent being called an old folk at work, I hear it all the time at home....
I have reached the conclusion that I work with a lot of f’ing mo–ns in this company.
We can only dream of working from home!!!

@4ezh, you know how to scroll? Try it if you aren’t satisfied with a topic you see on this anonymous site, for Christ sake how hard is it?
Hey, worry about yourself and stay out of everyone's and their kid's business. This isn't a news site. If it's not layoff related no need to post it here.
Local schools (private and public) are gearing up for online teaching. Chevron needs to be ready when suddenly kids are at home and parents need to be there too.
I am social distancing myself until my EOI comes in
Idling at home or in the office, what’s the difference? At least it saves a commute.
So you can pretend to work? Wow. That's not really too obvious at all. LOL!
Expect news soon
Like Ted Cruz, I will volunteer to self quarantine
You'll be"working from home" permanently pretty soon.
@1kbx, Precisely. Unlike you, who never does any either way.
The Company should have the old folks work from home...the most vulnerable, and let’s face it they might actually do work.
Why worry about that, you will be at home for good soon enough. You just won't be collecting a paycheck.
The company y is gearing up to test it once a week work from home and maybe even 2 to 3 days depending on how the virus outbreak impacts major locations, if it got worse in the next coming g weeks, which most likely will be the case, all would have no choice but to work from home, this virus is no joke so get ready and better be safe than dead.
In a way, getting laid off = working from home. And with oil prices it looks like quite a few of us will be “working from home” very soon.
On your 9/80 Friday
Chevron will only let people work from home when a confirmed death has occurred in the area of operations. It is simple: they don't trust you and you are supposed to trust them as they drive looking in the rear view mirror. Realize that the infections you see today occurred up to 24 days ago (latest studies have shown up to 24 day incubation period). Thinking in a snapshot in time. Worst case is the 11 current infections in the Houston area occurred before mid February. Thus management is making decisions that are valid 14-24 days ago.
When a Chevron employee on the floor is confirmed to be infected and they need to disinfect the building.
You can start when Chevron lays you off next month.
You have to know the type of employee you have. Does he have a measure of responsibility to be productive with his time knowing that no one is watching or will he goof off because he can. If you aren’t sure I would not go down this route.
I worked for a company about 10 years ago that thought working from would be a good solution for our over crowded building....... worst idea ever!
Productivity dropped significantly. You could never get ahold of anyone, people took a day to respond to emails where they used to respond immediately.
It lasted about 3 or 4 months before they did away with it.
Not going to happen
When your boss comes to you and says, “can you work from home?”
