Perfect Time

for LE to retire. If this happens, we stand a chance.

At this point I don't think changing leadership at the top will make any difference. Just look at that email from TK to his underlings. He's basically begging them to pay attention to how bad their UI was. They were just ignoring him and BS'ing back at him. He knew it was c-ap and he couldn't do anything about it. People at the top face multiple people under them who work together to cover each other's asses. TK should have started firing people, one after the other, but then, maybe can't do that without getting everyone else against him. Nothing will change. The ship is going down.

What would change without LE?

Too late to make a serious impression in the cloud.

Going to slash the price of the RDBMS so it competes with lower cost and free databases?

The future is set, gradually declining share of the DB market and SaaS ERP making decent revenue. The company will be a major employer for years but the number of employees will gradually reduce as it retreats from more areas.

What can a new leader actually do?

Never happen. They will bury Oracle next to his casket first.
