Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

$44/share & Coronavirus in Seattle = the new OCI attrition plan? Who needs layoffs

ORCL stock options are worthless and OCI colleagues are spreading viral contagion around the campus. Seattle schools are closed, but the OCI worker bees are still packed like sardines in their little workspace.

The people in OCI are dreaming. What do they think is going to happen? Larry will sell off their business unit? Cuz they sure aren't gonna be successful working for Oracle.

So you WFH. You still have to leave your house/apartment/hovel sometime. Unless you literally have everything delivered, you have to get out sometime.

If you’re talking about the worst and highest paid, look no further than mgmt. you can say whatever you want but the worker bees actually do work. Management at oracle is pathetic.

coronavirus and low stock price will never unseat a lot of Oracle employees

To be fair, many good employees do their job but are past the age of 55 and are counting down the time they can start collecting on their 401(k) Makes no sense to hunt for another job and so they just do their work until they are able to leave. I know about a half a dozen people personally who are definitely going to retire this year and probably another next. Don't forget Oracle is one of the older Tech Companies, couple with many of the companies they swallowed up, they have a sizeable chunk of older workers. Don't be surprised if you see a large portion of them retire in the next 5 years.

coronavirus and low stock price will never unseat a lot of Oracle employees. There are a lot of people terrified of having to get a different job. NOTHING will unseat these people except being laid off, and some of them, even then will scratch and claw their way back into the company somewhere. They've had a good run at Oracle, doing nothing and still getting paid. They aren't looking elsewhere, cause they know they can't get away with the BS they are allowed to pull at Oracle. Oracle keeps the worst, by putting up with people like this.

To be fair, it is the same for most of the stocks at the moment. It is mainly caused by the coronavirus development and the poor way it is handeld by DJT and the us administration.
BTW coronavirus could be soon the name of a new oracle cloud service.
