Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Virus

Hans?? Bubby!!

Make the call and close up for 2-3 weeks!!

We are frontline with exposure to customers that dont care about our well being. You do realize that we touch the money that these people are paying with , who knows where this money is coming from

The NBA has suspended , the NCAA tourney is playing with no fans, NHL will be next to suspend, and MLB too.....make the right choice , dammit even Tom Hanks has it .

Cmon Hans, make the right choice, think about our well being instead of your yacht for a change.

You know it’s the right thing to do , give us 2-3 weeks paid, adjust our quotas , let us stay at home with our families so this virus can be contained and than we can go on with our lives afterward.

Cmon Hans!! Make the right decision for once in your life!!

Employees in stores help people who are traveling . Going on cruises, and just got back from vacation. During this only old people are going out instead of staying in . Verizon you’re going cause an employee to get sick and k–l your customers . It’s not a joke close the retail locations like Apple did . I’m not worried about the virus I’m worried about our customers as you should be too! Some of your employees have young children or take care of elderly parents . What will it take to be proactive instead of reactive . The top leaders are staying home are we not important ?! We have families and children too.

@1hic+13WshJxl - call center employees are at risk too. You think it is only customers that can make people sick and not other employees? Most call centers have at least 250- 500 people working there which is considered a mass gathering. You want a brave employee to do what you can't? The bottom line is everybody should know their rights especially now. We are now under a National Emergency. Stop being sheep and be leaders. Now is your chance. Forward together right? Verizon wont take care of us so we all need to take care of each other.

To do ISPU? There isn't enough stock to do that. Most that are walking in the store have no idea what going on in regard of the stores phone stock and the spread of the virus.

A 2 to 3 week store closure will lead to a forever store closure.

Customers can call in for 95% of their needs. Stores should be allowed to turn down anyone who can be helped over the phone to reduce exposure. No one's email issue or Facebook app is worth the lives of employees. Only let those in who require in store assistance. If Verizon really needs the sales, send out a consumer wide text saying until further notice ISPU is the only method available to make purchases and it's grab & go only. The WHO isn't calling this a pandemic for fun. Maybe one brave employee can step up and make a phone call or send an email to someone who has some power to put some restrictions in place and move us out of harms way.

When top leadership publishes a cya stay at home no travel order and the next in line says travel or lose you're job, someone needs to take action. Socially responsible? Really? Integrity? Where? Hope they FINALLY get caught.

Agree with most of the above, where is a response? Where is the deep cleaning of the stores?Where is the hand sanitizer for employees & customers? Never miss an opportunity during a crisis-high quotas and stores having no chance of hitting them ?smells like a great way to close stores permanently

Would love to hear Hans address front line retail employees. All he talks about is work from home options for call centers....what about the people who deal with the public?!?!?!?!?!

Unfortunately this is BIG GREEDY RED. They care more about people higher up(DM & above), stockholders & other ventures they’re spending their money in. They don’t care abt ANYONE ELSE at all, but yet how they boast abt being a “Socially Responsible” company in the surveys.

I guess that 2.0 lip service doesn’t translate to real life situations. Glad I left Verizon!

Front line employees are the most at risk of any Verizon job. Can we use gloves and mask? Oh no that will make the customers feel uncomfortable. VZ will never lead on closing stores or doing the right thing. Hans you want to be socialy responsible?!? Keep is safe. We have no phones to sell. Have customes use online tools. Phone agents are working from home. Insurance replacements can be done online or over phone. Cash and phones are some of the most dirty serfaces. Hans and co can send out a message to every customer and outline self-service options. Shutdown stores. Pay retail employees and keep them safe until this passes.

Transfer all store to indirect. Then you can have your sales without all the liability. I should get a promotion for such a great idea.

Nobody is on pace to make quota. We have no phones to sell. Embrace a positive employee experience and keep retail closed up through end of march! Give us all guarantee for march. Re-evaluate for April. If I was CEO that is my plan.

If I die from the virus just tell them it was my time to go. Just like our stick price. All that cutting hans did and now we're back to square one.
