Ambassadors,
Our ability to provide incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experiences for guests is made possible by the work you do in our parks every day. I want to personally thank all of you for the composure and resiliency you have displayed as you’ve helped to keep our parks, our guests, and the animals under our care and each other safe and healthy in the recent weeks.
Today, we are exercising an abundance of caution and have decided to temporarily close all our theme parks effective Monday March 16, to help reduce the risk of coronavirus exposure to our Ambassadors guests and communities.
We do not make this decision lightly, and in doing so we are adhering to recommendations from public health authorities.
Our coronavirus taskforce will continue to coordinate with appropriate health officials and we currently plan to reopen the parks on April 1. During this temporary closure, essential personnel and animal care experts will continue to look after the health, safety and nutritional needs of the animals in our care.
We are closely monitoring this evolving situation and will continue to take the recommended precautions to keep you, our guests and the animals under our care safe.
For more information regarding the coronavirus, please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website, www.cdc.gov.
We will continue to update you in the days ahead.
Serge
