I used to enjoy the weekends. Now all I can think about is what the following workweek will bring and how many more layoffs we will learn of. And the saddest thing is that I have stopped believing this will end. I am now convinced this is what life at Optum will be like for good. How sad is that?

One has to have corporate Stockholm syndrome to defend those places. Brain damage. Why would any sane person work 1 second more than 8 hours? They do not value you. There is zero loyalty in US companies. Profit is all that matters in the US. Period. Empty box mailed, Or box mailed, with personal items, escorted off premises like being tossed outta a club or criminal. Folks had 7-15 years experience. Clinical and non clinical
So I quit! Now I’m supremely happy! No more weirdo co-workers!!! No more non-existent manager who only shows up to provide less support, when around! I took sh– for a number of years. The entire bunch was like a clique of mean girls but not the cool kind- huge nerdy geeks- but not the intelligent kind either. The team lead we were left with was brain damaged. I put up with the late nights and b—s— for two years too long.
The layoffs made my experience at Optum even more depressing and more difficult to make it through the day like everything is normal.
