From what I can tell on my LinkdIn feed, Lowe’s is bringing in former HD district mgrs to fill MD and SM positions at a break neck pace. It would appear that this is an effort to completely overhaul the culture at Lowes in the stores.

Probably they are the same DMs. Every one Marvin hires is somehow known to be an friend or former coworker of Marvin. Back in the day (we he first joined Lowe’s) Marvin said the days of getting your job because you know someone were over. Just another one of Marvin’s lies like Lowe’s associates are its greatest asset, there are no cash registers at corporate, and you serve customers or you serve those that serve customers.

We're not trying to be like home depot in any way that matters though.
They have branded buckets, Lowe's now sells branded buckets. They update their IT systems, we're still using DOS. They restructure and cut jobs we restructure and cut jobs. They have an internet pickup desk, we get an internet pickup desk ten years or more after they start doing it only to rip out the desks because it wasn't the current CEOs idea.
I’m also told that there are heavy recruitment efforts underway to hire some current HD DM’s and bring them in as well. This tells me that Marvin and Joe are not happy with the current roster of MD’s.
Lowes Depot
Have no earthly clue how trying to be like Home Depot is going to improve our gross sales. To do that you have to be better at the fundamentals and excel in customer service. Lowe's is doing neither. Sadly from what we are experiencing in my market (which has gone to 3rd-party box truck delivery combined with a cross-dock delivery hub) has been nothing short of catastrophic with respect to both sales and customer satisfaction. Appliance sales have plummeted and customer complaints have increased by at least 5 fold. Corporate seems clueless as to how to fix all the issues it has created. Lowe's can't even maintain adequate inventory at the servicing ADC and in many cases customers are being forced to wait 2+ months to get a stock/SOE item. Abysmal fail. Corporate's own ineptness is driving many of our valued customers to our competitors. Zero chance in h-ll this is saving the company money or helping us overtake Home Depot.

When we copied the Home Depot hand printed signs my SM only wanted those who had worked at Home Depot to letter the signs. For them it was two hours off the floor, not that they did anything except stand around.
Great practice hire their lemons that couldn't hack it at Home Depot. Usually the worst of the worst lazy brain-dead SOB's.
My SM loves to hire former and current Home Depot employees. They are as lazy as hell.
