Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

West Colton

Is it true WCT will become a flat switch yard February 1st? Apparently there was a leadership breakfast and Vena was really pushing the issue. Fritz was acting a little standoffish when confronted by the Director at WTC. Later that afternnon during a team building lunch the item was still being discussed. Nothing was resolved. Now fast forward to the g55 dinner and there had been some progress made. So whats the real story? How many meals is it going to take to get to the truth.

That’s the thing about all of this. It does not matter how much work you do, how much work you sign off, your safety record, how many times they say you are safe from lay-off, or if you jump through every hoop they establish.

Fort worth did the same and started humping more cars and keeping up with the demand. We were cranking them out at the shop as well when we were loaded down. They still shut down the hump and now we are lucky to see power through the shop. I just hope they get it all figured out and get back to railroading.

Even if it did, the same guys in the yard will still be doing an amazing job. They really stood up and really started humping more cars down the hump. West colton 4 life, or at least until next month when i get furloughed.
