Since a lot of us buy the stock, could we not all join together with all those shares and bring something up to management on an earnings call or something?

I wouldn't bet on it. Also something else to think about is... as a shareholder, you want your stock to go up in price, correct? (That's usually how it works) now think of what it takes for a company to make its stocks go up and stay up... one way is to make their workers do more with less.... (overhead, lower wages, reduced operating costs, etc....) now if you own stock in uhc.. you are in a way perpetuating your own misery by wanting your stock to do well in a company that treats you like c-ap, so their stocks do well
