We need to get his down to 5%. At the rate he's going, he should be there by September I would think
It’s working and continuing to improve.
The stocks don't make the company run. The employees is what makes the company run. PSR will ruin this company. To the person that said it does work, then you need to do some damn research. It's not working! The negative reviews are coming from every angle of this pile up. The apology tour wasn't because PSR worked. The apology tour was because it failed!
Just like federal law, rules and regulations, safety has never really mattered. It is used as a means to remove employees they wish, if and when they wish. Try to adhere to the rules and watch what happens.
PSR doesn't work for longer than 2-3 years anyone that’s implemented it says that, so it’s a flawed plan that shouldn’t be implemented at all. unless you want to pump up the company stocks to get massive returns that cripple the company if you try to run it longer then that allotted amount of time.
The issue with PSR is that it won’t work unless your into the procedure 100%. Union Pacific is trying to run PSR at 70%. If UP doesn’t fully implement this process it will fail. Even though I am furloughed and struggling I don’t want to see this company fail.
Booming stock price inflated with booming debt. 24 billion in debt what a joke. 32 billion in buyouts since 2010. Lmao
For whatever it’s worth My brother works for the Canadian National and he said that they don’t do the PSR b.s anymore. He tells me it soon will pass. I don’t know the leadership at this company will walk over a dollar To pick up a penny. Time will tell but I know it sure isn’t pleasant working here right now and I definitely don’t feel that anyone give a rats a double s about safety anymore.
All the PSR railroads still use it. They may have apologized to some customers but they didn’t sc-ap it. You don’t hear about it because it is old news to them. It may be an unpopular opinion but it does work. Right now UP is experiencing the “growing pains and employee resistance”. Once all that is smoothed out and the furloughs are less frequent it will be a normal practice and people will forget it is even implemented.
Good job on short term success for the shareholders. There is no way that PSR is beneficial longterm for the company, in fact the companies that have used this plan (and I use that word loosely) have all gone away from it since they tried it. They all have gone on apology tours to try to get the business back and confidence from their employees and customers so don’t confuse negative press or reviews as a gauge that this man is doing wonders for the company. He’s not and everyday that shows at every yard and shop. Look past the stocks that’s not a good gauge of how our business is actually doing look into the yards where freight is sorted and the mainlines that freight runs on that tells you just how our business is freight is at a standstill because the locomotives are breaking down (just happened in Texas) or the trains are too long to yard without doubling or tripling over in rails which slows down trains trying to yard which slows down everything else.
Just means he’s doing a good job putting the company on the right path for long term success.
