Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

Sales Party in Orlando

This from our leader ... This week, our sales teams and all who support them gathered in Orlando for our 2020 Global Kick Off to discuss our vision for the decade ahead. About 500 of us who attended the event took part in 60 education sessions and several larger group talks.

I’m sorry, 500 people. Airfare, hotel, meals, alcohol and entertainment while offices are closing and you’re laying off good people. I hope sales learned something at all these educational sessions, like how to retain a customer before they sign with a competitor. Just when you think you’ve read, heard or seen it all...

They will be partying in HIMMS too - taking many to del frisco's! As we cut costs, non-bill travel & bill travel is now scrutinized. PMs are sitting on timesheets so IC utilization #'s look terrible. WHere is Glen when you need him #bringbackglen

How they still sell multi-million dollar contracts is beyond me.

Stock is below $9 / share and these salespeople are partying in Florida? That speaks volumes about corporate priorities.

And apparently they just opened a new office in Orlando! Wow. I wonder how many people they had to layoff to justify this??

It all goes back to the saying (often used by marketing, sales, and lawyers) "Perception is reality". So putting on a big bash like this says to potential customers "Allscripts is a winner". Just ignore the man behind the curtain...

@fhn+13jy35dL: Beong bought out can't be any worse than what we have now.

Why are so many health care related companies run by such clowns?

Black was bad news from the start. I remember the first time he came to the Boston office, my thought was were in trouble. Bragging about running the Boston marathon! Big deal a lot of people did. Why did Glen get booted so quickly and this guy is still hanging on? Continuing to be over payed for poor performance.

Do you really have anything to sell? I will feel ashamed to show these products built with technologies so old.

I guess they can enjoy the last party. With the stock sinking, clients leaving and negative revenue, it is only a matter of time before the company gets bought out.
