It's true, no link can be obtained because it was announced in the stores this morning.
So to the guy who will ask for a link, that will be in due time.

On the literal damn homepage of this website:
“TheLayoff.com is a simple discussion board for all of us who would like to learn more about the rumors or possibility of job cuts in our company.”
You can choose to refuse to believe unsourced information if you’d like, but this site is “anonymous” and unequivocally meant for people to post news (or just plain rumors!) for which they may not have any external “proof” or when providing such “proof” before an announcement may put them at some personal or professional risk.
Like you said, someone can choose to believe or disbelieve any single thing they read on this website, and you’re welcome to set your own standard for believing what you see here. You don’t, however, need to advertise that on every single unsourced post, and do also note that you’re not the only person with two working eyes capable of discerning whether a post has a link. If you disagree with this site’s stated purpose, you’re more than welcome to spend your hours elsewhere instead of pestering posters who might have just found out they’re losing their jobs to “prove it.”
If true, no more Kmarts will be left in Illinois. Only 3 Sears left now.
If someone works in a store, and management has told them that the store is closing, that's good enough for me. Links can come later.
According to the liquidator they all will close... be proactive and get another job.
Is it definitely 27 or do you think it’s more?
Does anyone have a link to the definitive list of 27?
All lies!
Massapequa?
Anybody know about the Westwood K-mart?
Transformco doesn't issue full closing lists anymore becuase they don't have to. The only way to get a list nowadays is to compile one based on information gleaned from this site as well as the local news outlets. A full list is at least 24-48 hours away.
Personally, I believe most of what I have been seeing on this particular thread (no matter how unpleasant).
And thanks to everyone who provided the information. Posting to thelayoff.com is not usually the first thing you think of when you just lost your job. But people do it anyway.
If Penn Station is closing that almost screams "pull the plug already"
West Long Branch NJ KMART . We found out this morning. Heard Penn Plaza too.
Willowbrook
Humble
Springfield
Announced today on conference call. No link needed.
Its Woodbridge Sears and yes they hire DURING liquidation as if it's a seasonal hire... oh and sorry MR. I want a link, but there can be no such link on the day of announcements.... That's what this site is for, to announce them and not to have to provide links.
You don't have to believe it but its true...
theres job postings up for the Woodbridge Sears
Woodbridge doesn't have a Kmart (unless it's mistaken for Avenel)
Woodbridge Sears or Kmart
2 Humble, TX Sears “seasonal closing store” jobs posted today on the @SearsJobs twitter
Not sure if it’s an off-list closing or part of the list
So many here still in De Nile
Wilmington Delaware #1853 closing. Had our meeting this morning.
West Long Branch, Penn Plaza, Woodbridge are all going
DM Vegas kmart store is one closing
Are there any in New York closing?
8 or so years ago, 27 would have been less than one tenth of one percent of all open stores. Today, this is approximately 15%, give or take a percent or two. Speaking of a percent or two, Lunkhead Eddie is still probably counting those as critical accounting numbers. Every dollar counts to him! To the rest of us, its like asking how many worms entered the casket this morning to continue feasting on the carcass.
Basically if you still have one, your Kmart has a 1 in 4 chance of being on the list.
Sears - Tucson
How about Des Plaines or Woodfield?
Confirmed 13 Kmarts, 14 Sears...The post about Tuesday being the day was correct. Rumor is Penn Station is one of the Kmarts on the list...can anyone confirm?
Any in North Carolina?
If true, this would probably put the total FL Sears and Kmart count below 150 stores.
only 27 figured there would have been more
