Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Polaris

Polaris. noun. A star located at the end of the handle of the Little Dipper, in the constellation Ursa Minor, approximately 408 light years from Earth, and almost at the north celestial pole. Also called North Star . You see even the meaning is so off the mark that it won’t work. I think being for past 10 years Macy’s has tried to turn the ship away from the ice berg. my client , story , backstage , last act. , firing talent , So I think Polaris should be called “ kicking the can down the street “ the cost cutting should cone from multiple millions in bonuses for the top. You have a dinosaur running Jurassic Park in the The rides are all rusty and boring . The titanic sank in 2.5 hours. Macy’s has max 2.5 years. Fast fashion doesn’t work because look at forever 21 it’s bankrupt and being sold !! And that should scare the hell out of you !!! If Macy’s shrinks to 450 stores it’s just Lessing the target to finally put them under for good by amazon . eBay . Target and waldump! But really. Imagine your life in a better job Surrounded by great people at a great company. Would you miss Macy’s. ?

Polaris, the North Star, appears stationary in the sky because it is positioned close to the line of Earth's axis projected into space. As such, it is the only bright star whose position relative to a rotating Earth does not change. All other stars appear to move opposite to the Earth's rotation beneath them.
There is no bright star overhead at the South Pole, so no 'South Star' equivalent currently exists. The North Star, however, will not 'always' point north. Because the Earth wobbles like a top in its orbit, Polaris will eventually appear to move away from the pole and not be the North Star again for another 26,000 years.

Incredible, right? They went from over 800 stores and expanding into new markets to cutting to almost half that and k–ling off all the experimental endeavors. They went from retail innovation to desperately competing to stay alive.

I spent seventeen years programming for Macy's. I watched repeated internal efforts to improve the systems and advance the technology get crushed by management that just wanted the status quo and infrastructure teams that refused to acknowledge any tech besides the mainframe. The San Francisco team were the only ones actively dragging Macy's into the future.

I finally got the courage to get the hell out and try somewhere different. I still marvel at why I waited so long to leave. Get out of MST, folks. There really are better jobs out there.
