Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

No Longer One Of The Best!

I have worked for UHC for over 24 years and never have I seen them go so low as the past couple of years. Employees used to matter, Members used to matter and Compassion was always there! Now it's all about the stocks and being the biggest and best regardless of the good people that they are letting go left and right! UHC always retained good quality people which is what made them so great! The great people being let go will be other Insurers gains and UHC will soon be left with no more loyal, talented, high quality employees. I never thought I would see such a great Company go down hill so quickly.

Or why no one at UHC is talking about Haven...they’ll be hiring at some point.

UHG changed under our current leader. It was not like this until he took over around 2017. We valued our Culture. Now it’s a joke. I hope they open their eyes before it’s too late.

Losing 5% of employees may not "cripple" the company but losing accounts will. Enrollment is already down. Clients have to pay to get dedicated accounts otherwise they are want to offshore reps. Medicare members speak to people they cant even understand due to language barriers. Providers hate the provider line and are not renewing contracts. Look at Houston Methodist, it's a huge provider. They are losing people who were truly dedicated to the job and will be powered by people who only want a dollar. That is what going to cripple them! Meanwhile the CEO is purchasing millions of $ in shares.

Good job sending people on here to justify it. Wait until legal gets involved because short handed teams are forced to cut corners. Overworked people are going to make more mistakes.

If UHG is so terrible why not do what OP said and join Aetna, Humana, etc? You can all make health insurance great again! You people clearly have zero comprehension or understanding of the managed care industry. Take control of your lives.

Exactly! A company is only as good as its employees and members. UHG no longer recognizes this and soon enough they will drive their members away too - very sad.

I wouldn't either of you run a lemonade stand in August. Company is going to report record earnings again this year, and they're putting food on the table for your family. You want capitalism then you get offshoring. For a year now they've laid people off and the company hasn't collapsed. Laying 5 percent off doesn't cripple the company. You don't like it? Sell your stock and quit the company since all the smart minds are gone. Give me a break. Like none of the other insurers agree using offshore. So you want to be at a competitive disadvantage. Ok boomer.

It's a damn shame! You're right that other insurers will only gain from UHG's greed & loss. Oh well...that's how they want to play. They are using offshore employees for cheap, cheap labor, but the US members can't understand them, which will also leave.
