Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

I was let go today!!!

Layoffs did occur today and UnitedHealthcare will have more coming.

Community and State in NY eliminated 40 more positions.

They eliminated 145 sales positions in September.

I was let go today.

I did the work of five people and was salaried.

My severance package is lousy.

I was loyal and worked 70 to 80 hours a week.

Never took PTO, never complained.

They do not care about people and never will.

As far as getting rehired goes, well doubtful that will happen.

This is probably a blessing and I’m going to move on.

Corporate America is a cesspool for sure.

I hope all the UHG Corporate CEO’s sleep well at night knowing they let go outstanding employees today who will be struggling to keep our homes.

I also was let go yesterday. About 8 of my team members were let go all who had been at the company for 10 years or more. We all had survived many people leaving and the layoffs in October all while picking up the slack of those positions that were never replaced. Not sure what the long term plan is but I really do feel badly for those from my team that are now left with even more work on their plate. It’s going to be extremely hard to sustain long term. The hardest part of this was how sudden it was. 24 hours ago if you had asked me how secure I felt in my job on a scale of 1-10 I would have said at least an 8 or 9. Just hard to stomach how the company came to the decision to lay off who they did. None of my managers or VP had any idea who was going to get cut. My providers have all written me stating how foolish they think this decision is and how I was the best rep they had ever had. The only consolation I have in all this is that it was out of my control and wasn’t because I wasn’t doing a bad job. Just strictly corporate business.

So sorry. I was let go too. My team's job was to fix inefficiencies. We had a full year planned of uncovering and fixing things to make it easier and cheaper for clients to get signed up and for members to access benefits at Optum. But if they're not willing to pay to fix the problems, why bother to expose them?

Norman Wright says that every time a customer buys a second product, NPS drops. Hmm, I wonder why?

So sorry for you, and sorry for us, too. My husband was laid-off today in Las Vegas. No warning. He actually Loved working there. They don't even have anyone qualified to do his work. :(

I am so sorry! I was laid off in Oct. 2019. It is a shock. Keep your chin up. There is another Company out there that will appreciate your work ethic, trust me. You will find a better company to work for, I did. I wish you and everyone who were laid off, Good luck.

Corporations consist of the CEOs , Board members and the shareholders. In a nutshell, they Grind the “BRAND” as hard & fast ; and as many times as is profitable! Has UHG’S carcass been picked clean by the above mentioned???
