Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Feb. 13th or Feb 20 layoffs Omaha Corporate - IT only

Feb 13 is scheduled date. Feb 20 is the backup date.
You will notice additional meetings this week for management.
They were told 30% is not met. Contractors are counted in the total numbers to be laid off. But the layoffs do not include the contractors. This is a step toward more contractors less full time UP. This was the plan from the beginning. Management was told to say nothing. Volunteers will not be asked for.
Do not ask me for my source. I have to keep my job. The money is good and I have people to feed.

IT and other jobs as well all happened on Feb 12th. I was one of them. They waited long enough for everyone to get their bonus but never actually get the raise they were promised. And these were people who had great performance, outstanding service, and an immense amount of knowledge. When knowledge walks out the door with no warning and no replacement it really makes it hard for those left behind to pick up the pieces and start from scratch.

If you really are a shareholder I hope you manage to sell before they tank the stock and have to figure out how to pay back all the debt they’ve accrued pumping the stock up to fool you into buying more

At this point all of it might as well be outsourced the “elite” management staff running this place only wants money and will do anything to get it. Hopefully those id–ts finally hit their magic number soon so we can get back to real railroading (taking care of what really matters customers and employees) and not worrying about the short term stockholders and what they want
