Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Feb 2020 Field Realignment

To: SGM (135 Sears FLS)

As part of our ongoing business review, efforts were taken this week to right-size our Retail Services field leadership teams to better support our stores, members, and associates.
Sears mainland stores will operate as one region led by VP (name).

The region will have support in each of these areas:
· Director, Finance
· Director, Human Resources
· Director, Asset and Profit Protection
· Director, Merchandise and Local Marketing
· Director, Hardlines Business Development

Market Leaders will continue to support a single-format market consisting of approximately 17 stores. Stores will continue to have the additional support of Market level Human Resources and Asset and Profit Protection resources.

For full details, review the Field Realignment website.

Offshore
Due to the unique nature of the Offshore market, Sears and Kmart locations will continue to operate as a cross-format market reporting into the Kmart Region and will report to VP (name).

System and Reporting Changes
· System updates will take place 2/13 – 2/16. Most reporting/systems will reflect the new hierarchy by the end of February.

This means nothing to the average employee. I am sure most Cashiers, stockers, etc., don't even Know (Or care) who their DM is & couldn't pick their face out of a lineup. This has almost zero affect on frontline employees. Their shuffling around some DM's that probably make $200 Grand each. Boo-freaking-hoo. Hardly affects any regular employee. Not important.

@dpu+13ytiBck Thank you! This isn't some shattering news. If they were closing like 20 stores, then it means something, but this is just upper management, front-office, logistical stuff that will have virtually no effect on normal store employees or customers. Much to do about nothing, really.

Have to agree with others. All it means is a few higher execs got most likely fired (oh boo hoo) and this is just about them stream lining this dying company.

We were told this yesterday. There is no easy coast/west coast. Out region is Maine to Georgia, which seems like a huge region.
