Here we go again. New set of values to be released

Seems like every couple of years GE changes its values. I get it, new CEO and everything but c'mon, no focus on the fundamentals. How long will these last?

Most who work here understand the "values" implemented by management are simply paying lip service. It's only for visitors, investors, and legal reasons - the ones who are being bamboozled. It's all a farce. The same old meaningless buzzwords.

How to control your workforce. The spirit and letter been around for decades, yet GE still ends up in court and paying fines. Spirit and letter a fail. Why that is something so important fails and they the pretty mediocre HR department expect values to work?

The GE executives who ware paid to come up with these values outsource this work to even more expensive HR consulting firms. Then they report back to the VP’s that they have all these great ideas and take credit. I’ve seen the same slogans, values , and marketing pictures at my new company. Surely the same big consulting firms are selling this same c-ap to many of the major companies with big budgets to pay for this. You’d probably find it similar at the Boeing’s and Honeywell’s of the world.

HR and marketing have to earn their keep. Let me guess, customer, profitability, meritocracy, integrity. Immelt didn't tick those boxes every year,

Wow, these managers make $Millions to implement these endless initiatives. Imagination at work! Imagine how many hours were wasted in conference rooms to come up with this junk. Many sticky notes stuck on a wall. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad and true.

Until the next CEO does the same thing.

Between COVID-19 and the ban that will be placed on GE Aviation engine sales to China, the last remaining truly profitable part of the company is at risk.
