Roanoke to close next month and then shortly after Conway yard.

They're closing down Roanoke in March and then Conway will be soon after that.

Not much of a city, that's for sure.

Roanoke is a City, not a town.

They've been wanting to close RLS for years! That goes back to the last regime. Place is a dump. The whole town is gross.

It’s like they told RLS, they didn’t care how efficient, how much quality, or how cost effective they built the DC/ACs. If it doesn’t fit in to their plan they will eliminate it

Efficiency means nothing if it doesn’t fit their plan. Problem is nobody knows exactly what their plan is. Including them...

I don't see them closing the most efficient yard and car shop in the system. But I could be wrong.

Maint of Way, SCX Loco, Conductors, Engineers, Radio Shop, Camera Lab, Yard/Trainmasters, Road Foreman, B&B to name a few. That doesn't mean they will all be there in 90 days however.

Someone please tell me where there will be 650 people left employed by NS in the Roanoke valley with the loss of 85 at RLS. There are 105 at SCX locomotive.

Well let’s clear the air then, this by no means is it. This is the beginning of the end. We’re talking more shop closures, more yards idled, lines sold off. This will flow into 2021 before it’s slowed down at all. Every department will see huge changes. Only ones safe are the ones in Atlanta HQ’s

Let's not keep everyone confused. Roanoke didn't close. 650 people from other crafts are still working. They simply lost work to Juniata. And second Conway locomotive has no work to lose. So unless they completely shut the whole yard Conway isn't closing.

Are you able to scroll and read? Do you have access to the news? Roanoke is closing East End Shops MAY 18, not March. You must be new to this
