Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Comcast Linemen to receive temp 25% increase...

Heard from several colleagues that Comcast linemen as well as other Telecom linemen are receiving a temporary pay bump as a result of the pandemic and a need to keep communications systems active. Any validity to this ?

Actually,Spectrum got ZERO pay increase and a plead to work 6 days as well. They can opt to take 3 weeks of "flex pay" off,or get paid off at the end of the year.

Would love for that to happen. Unfortunately I don’t think that it will ever happen. I work with a bunch of guys who stare at the floor and sit on their hands when it comes time to voice up and air grievances so I can’t imagine doing something as brazen as a department sick out becoming a reality.

Actually from what I heard it involves FEMA and additional funding from the government so I don’t think Altice will have much choice in the matter. As far as your comment goes I never for once thought they would do something if it meant it was coming out of their own pocket. I’m sure they’ll find a way to spin it so they don’t like the terrible greedy entity that they are.

I’m so sad for you, sorry u can’t get the 25% pay increase during these hard times... You are abviously delusional to think altice is going to do a thing like that , smh

The previous comment was directed toward the first response to this post which was “yea go to Comcast”

Do you have your GED hanging above the fireplace you don’t have because you chose to work in the field for Altice ? Or are you a member of the ridiculously opulent and ignorant management team? I’m guessing the latter since that’s the textbook response “Don’t like it ? There’s the door” Unfortunately for most of us, “going to Comcast” isn’t as easy as you make it sound. Some of us can’t just up and relocate or take a pay cut. As a company that has done nothing but take, take, take since they acquired Cablevision throwing us a bone in a time of crisis such as this would go a long way. Your simplistic response shows us exactly what you have going on inside of your brain which is obviously very little.

Didnt hear about that but it would be noble of the company to give us some kind of bonus or bump for staying out on the battlefield during this crisis. Office workers can work from home but our duties cant. Plant work needs to be done and maintained now more than ever cuz people are relying on us for news, streaming, etc. They should limit field service techs to outside work only and make no contact inside unless they give them n95 masks and such gear.
