They will probably close for a few weeks. Costco has already done this, at least in my area. Major clinics have also already stopped doing routine eye exams. Patients needing contacts will be told to order online. Conference calls today might confirm this. If not confirmed today, it will most likely be in the next few days. Opticians will most likely be used in other parts of the store if I had to guess, but I don't know for sure.

What gets me is that optical is "closed" but we are all expected to help in the club and be even more exposed to this. How is that helping? We should be closed like all other optical companys have been, yes they are giving OT but my health and sanity is worth more. We get direction LAST MINUTE and inconsistent throughout other clubs. Get it together and make a decision!
I am absolutely defeated by the information that was on the conference call today about what they are doing with optical. This is not funny anymore this is our health...our lives...our families lives. I want to see Willie in the club working with the patients. I am not a pessimist and I am not the kind of person who ever causes trouble...but Sams Club, enough is enough now. Shuttinf our section down and having us work in other parts of the club to risk our lives? Having us sit in optical for dispenses is worth us possibly getting this virus to you all? OPTICAL ASSOCIATE AND OTHERS LETS DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. YOU CAN GO ON LOA FOR 2 WEEKS AND GET PAID. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORK IN THIS SITUATION. WHY DONT WE ALL BAND TOGETHER AND DO THIS??? Sams club wont be happy til we're all dead. Lets do something about this. There is no points you can get its all on the wire. Lets finally do something about this mistreatment.
I have a feeling it'll be closed for more than a few weeks. You guys still don't get it. Things are only going to get worse. This will be a new normal for us for several months. Trump is prolonging shutting down the country but that is the only thing that will stop this. This is already so wide spread, and the numbers they're giving us are confirmed only. For every confirmed case add at least 100 to that. I'm not exaggerating. This is more serious than you realize. Italy has been trying to warn us for a week now. Us Americans are so c—y and it's going to have consequences. Us low people on the totem pole don't have a say. Our leaders will work us to the grave. Unfortunately some of out fellow associates will end up passing away due to working around infected members and catching it. We're all about to see our country like never before. Get ready.

Anything Costco does, Walmart wants to imitate. So most likely they will shut it down. If Costco stays open, we are gonna stay open too.
