H1B Lay-off !!

Any H1B here who are terminated from Anthem ? How many years you worked for anthem as FTE and what was your title ?

Why are we even arguing about H1b working harder etc? You guys go around talking about being the next superpower and end up looking for jobs all over the world , from the US to Middle East , Malaysia, Singapore., you name it and you want to go there , and then claim that you are a superpower because you still make malaria pills, which the rest of the world stopped making a long time back.

The “prevailing wage” myth has been debunked a long time ago. This is how companies get around the loop-hole:

  1. The defined wage bands are so wide as well as the number of years of work experience. Don’t tell me you’ve never seen those “Mid-Level Developer” jobs paying 65k but requiring 20 years of experience.
  1. The big consulting companies create artificial shortages of IT workers and import thousands of people every year. They give them a generic job title like “Tech Consultant” or “Associate Manager” and have these people doing coding work while paying them nasty salaries like 50k per year while and top 500 companies enjoy this since they only get a bill rate of 50/hour for these folks.
  1. And lastly, these folks are worked like dogs because the only option is going back home if they don’t agree to work 60 hour weeks.

This is facts, don’t be ignorant or try to defuse the spread of information which corporate cronies love to hide.

Pay no attention that offshore screw almost everything up and onshore have to correct it - so how much is Anthem REALLY saving when rework is done over and over again - not to mention all the providers and customers that get angry with all the mistakes constantly. So yeah, let's keep offshoring.

Companies are required by law to pay a prevailing wage to a H1b worker. H1b making less money is a myth. They definitely work harder than american citizens despite so much racism thrown in their faces by lazy losers who have a list of excuses to not work harder.

H1b will not be replaced because they are perfectly happy working 1.5x more for 50% less pay.

Their goal is to save as much as dollars as possible and send it back to india where they can retire at age 55 and live like a king.

Meanwhile you and I get undercut and lose our jobs which leads to families being destroyed.
