Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Just Close the Stores

Is anyone actually coming in for anything that is absolutely necessary for retail?

The only people we've helped all week are non-believers that think Coronavirus is a hoax or are ignorant to what's going on in the world and tank our RIS for not having 11 pros in stock.

Verizon is just asking to get sued when an employee catches this virus for forcing stores to stay open for seemingly non-essential reasons. I understand they are trying to make it seem like we're supposed to be there for customers in their time of need, but do they really need us at this time to take their bill payments or reset their email passwords? For f—s sake, TMobile/metro are closing 80% of their stores, certain metropolitan cities are forcing everyone to close but the company still want us coming in?

Significant Other. But dang that’s a solid story. It’s all true. Sh has hit the fan and still spraying. Sorry for the gross metaphor.

My SO works at Verizon. He has to deal with public all day - and yes, the only ones coming in are older people who are not shy to declare that covid19 is a hoax. So my SO goes to work to reset freaking Facebook/email passwords and transfer pictures for these id–ts. Our governor ordered all non essential businesses to close for 30 days. While Verizon's reduced hours and Sunday closures are a move in the right direction, it's a move that should have happened at least 2 weeks ago. Now it's time to close. But what does Verizon do? They are doing a BOGO sale this weekend with waived act/upg fees! To attract more people into stores. Wtf!
Here I am, mom of 3 kids, stressing out about catching this virus and dying from it because my SO is forced to work with public and I have asthma, and Verizon is run by a mo–n.

Well since we have retail employees convinced their job is so important to society that they want to risk exposure to covid-19, let’s have voluntary only staff.

ive sold jetpacks for ppl who work from home and fixed a few sim card issues, yea the traffic is slow but i mean its kinda important peoples phones work, especially first responders, they shortened our hours alot and still pay us for 40 hours and were down to only 3 ppl in the store but yeah depending on traffic they may close but who knows, were the only corporate store for miles so were helpful, all the indirect stores closed in our area

This just in: all stores to now stay open 24/7 to make sure customers can reset their passwords in the time of need.

More stores closures are coming. My store (we’re high traffic) closed yesterday because we did not have any cleaning supplies so they closed us until further notice. Don’t worry it’s coming. My Gm said on his market call they are discussing opening only 3 days a week for the rest of the opened stores.

Hang in there friend!

Yeah no freaking clue what this non american ceo is thinking. give it like 5 days and the whole country is like italy and they will have no choice. This just goes to show how out of touch anyone DM and above is clueless about what happens in stores. Lets start a BOGO, buy one get one, infection that is.
