In this "new" economy, a good management team would understand they do not need a Chief Technology Officer, a Chief Sales Officer or any other form of Segment or Corporate dead weight. If they are not putting dollars by way of revenue or savings, what good are they? By pushing their cost down to the divisions all you are doing is costing people jobs that can and do fulfill one or both of those vital functions daily. Time to get rid of the dead weight and by that I mean those "pet" VP and Directors that haunt the 7th floor at 7909 and various other floors and buildings.

CMO invited NOV, just ask him. Then ask him about his son’s rap music. Then ask him about his expense audits a couple of years ago.
We have the same amount of VPs as we did 6 years ago...way to go guys.
Totally agree the only thing I would add is all Corporate & Segment VPs that are not in charge of a division should all be looked at closely especially those with Development, Analyst or Strategy in their titles, just my two cents worth
