Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Time to stop complaining

Remember all of those people who were “so happy they left” Xerox to go to a local dealer. 90% of the dealers had significant layoffs yesterday and today. Thank you Xerox for the paycheck today. I don’t take employment for granted.

I went to a dealer, was probably even one of the ones that said "There is life after Xerox" and have never been happier. OP, still waiting on proof of the 90% layoff claim you made (wait, are you Donnie Trump?)! My dealership, like EVERY COMPANY IN THE WORLD, is having people stay home. BUt you know what, we still have to process invoices (I heard Quatemala can't send their workers to be remote, as the remote workers don't have the infrastructure, like, high speed internet and laptops!) to work remote?), call customer that have support questions, etc. Our dealership has 3 EPC machines going Monday to a customer, we're still working, not unemployed.

@OP. Show me proof that 90% of dealers let employees go this week. This posting sounds like John V. spewing.

I think we can all agree:
1) Xerox is dying
2) Xerox has treated their employees like sh–. Layoffs, severance reduction, no raises for many years, keeping the mgmt layers who are clueless while outsourcing to overseas, 401k change, health plan costs, etc
3) current leadership is acting as if a sale is the only possible salvation. No future revenue growth plan exists. Slides exist. A plan and actions do not.
4) no one takes employment for granted
5) work at home means WORKING at home. Some comments imply that’s like paid time off
6) Xerox has become a toxic workplace environment.

Working for Xerox is a paycheck, but that doesn’t mean it’s an ideal situation nor one with longevity.

Wow
Thankful for a job that the CEO came from HP as a has been and he gets 23 million last year?
And you are thankful for crumbs?
Why not offer johnnie your wife or daughter while you’re at it?
Amazing how some love to fall in line and can’t do it fast enough.

I agree that all businesses are affected by this outbreak, including Xerox.

However, for Xerox, they have to deal with an additional issue. They are in the midst of getting all their financials lined up for a merger (or more like a fire sale now). For example, they use large part of their earnings for so called restructuring (lay-off and closing real estate facilities) and then take the savings in the subsequent quarter, showing positive earnings. But these earnings are in fact the earnings of the past. This works if the merger works by leaving the shell company to the newly formed company. But if merger fails, then Xerox will be a very small company with no future expansion plan.

Either way, the whole thing is a mess with the current management team.

do you think for a minute you would staying home if the fed didn't promise to compensate, and also give corporations tax breaks, we will see how it hits your own tax return 2021 , nothing is free , I call BS, as of this point they will only back 2 weeks of paid sick leave which they will collect weather you do your job or not, don't be fooled by their concern for you , it doesn't exist

Xerox did pay people to work from home this week. Next week also. Disney, Marriott, and other Fortune 500 had big layoffs. Dealers getting obliterated. Thank you Xerox

Start planning and training for the new world that will emerge in a years time.

Seems like a lot of people who work at dealers are spending an awful lot of time on Xerox’s page. Makes me think a lot of the stuff on here is them selling fear. Stay strong Xerox...

You do realize most good well run dealerships have much higher profit margins than Xerox. Most of us will weather the storm better than big X.

This is 100 percent true. Layoffs will take place everywhere soon, even Xerox. But dealers are going to be absolutely crushed and layoffs will be very big at dealers. Agree with OP, thankful.
