How is this WFH working out for you?

Whenever I visit SJ, I’m always amazed at how much time gets wasted. Even mine. My boss sees me and drags me into useless meeting after useless meeting where nothing ever progresses. And the open office is some id–t dope-smoking hippy’s bright idea which is a real world fail. If I had to work around that much noise and c-ap all day, there’d be bodies piled up in the dumpster.

More productive compared to the noisy open office where one can't focus, loving it!!

I'm glad you're loving it. I hate WFH, but the collaborative, open office thing didn't work out. There are teams that get mad if you "collaborate" at your desk & want you to use an audio privacy room (APR), but there's never an APR available because people are camping out in them.

I miss the ergo chair/desk and multiple monitors at work. My home office has a chair that is only good for a few hours at a time, not all day. I only have room for my laptop & one monitor, so I have shutdown my system to setup my work system.

I also like the fact that I don't have to worry about my family interrupting my work with "help me with this, it will only take a minute" or "help me with that, it will only take a minute". Losing my train of thought take more than a few minutes to get back.

I like the flexibility to work from home when needed, but I don't want to do it full time.

Chuck mentioned he’d look into it in a previous CV session. Never heard if anything came of it.

It's my understanding the company has given the recent LRs an extra 60 days to stay on board and find internal jobs.

Where did you hear that? I've seen no mention of it on the CEC or press releases. It would generate good press if true, so why isn't Cisco shouting it out everywhere? I doubt it's true, but if it is, that's good news. They won't find a job internally, but at least they'll have pay until other companies restart interviewing.

Yup. There are suddenly new rules to the game... the old ones are now null and void.

Reality is the longer this lasts, the less likely we are to have jobs onsite or remote

I love mix of both. WFH and working with coworkers in office. We lose the human touch WFH. Stop the damn planes from flying city to city and spreading corona virus. Complete shutdown and sealing a city will work.

I WFH full-time, love it and am grateful for the privilege every day. I think Cisco is being extra sensitive to employees during these crazy times. It's my understanding the company has given the recent LRs an extra 60 days to stay on board and find internal jobs. No one knows what the future holds, however.

I had a horrible 90-min one way commute - so, I am enjoying it for now.

I am concerned about LRs, not sure if we'll all get to go back to the office.
