Excellent article from a tech writer who seems to have a good grasp on the state of Xerox.

I left earlier this year when I saw the writing on the wall back in the summer. These c levels never cared about xerox viability. They have one job, sell to the highest bidder. And if you think this was caused by them you’re fooling yourself. Too many CEOs and VPs before them. Old xerox types all thinking the same like drones, people who were in it for themselves when the ‘getting was good’ destroyed the company long before Carl came along. The death with fx would have happened as well just a lot slower pace.

It pains me. I loved the company. All i feel is sad.

Both companies are way overvalued and are essentially obsolete. Think I'm kidding? Look at what they offer technology and service wise, and all of the ALTERNATIVE options out there that have better tech, have responded better to changing times and business/consumer demands, and are much less debt laden

An analogy to Xerox buying HP would be Sears buying Bed, Bath and Beyond (or BBBY buying Sears)

Great final summary: “This isn’t to say that once the market recovers, Carl and Xerox might not be back, but I have doubts Xerox will last that long. The damage done to the company is too pronounced, and while it does have the cash to keep the doors open, divesting the assets and distributing the money may make more sense given the buying opportunities currently in the market.”

Run, run as fast as you can......
