Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

What are my rights here

Do you think Xerox is providing a safe workplace?
Xerox is clearly not outlining which of our customers are part of what's considered essential.

Do not expect me to expose my family for Xerox to provide non-essential service.

Please stay at home for the rest of us that don't want to get infected by Xerox Reps spreading Covid-19 for service to non-essential customers.

The only folks that should be wearing mask are those already infected (to prevent droplets spreading when sneezing or coughing) or medical/healthcare workers/first response/etc. dealing with infected or potentially infected persons.

We need to stay at home (as much as we are able, though not all of us can) to allow them to have the supplies needed to keep them safe/healthy while they are trying to keep us safe/healthy.

Masks? Lol. In Monroe county, you cannot locate one anywhere. You can find them onAmazon for 8.99 each plus shipping. 10x what they were 4 months ago - gouging.

And wait until Trump says “wear a mask and go back to work”. Then they may become even scarcer. Meanwhile many will forget that we were told they don’t help prevent infection ( unless you are a health worker ). We are truly living in interesting times and literally watching people we know ... ah, I’m getting political.

Xerox's workman's comp insurance company must be worried right now. They will be the ones that pay out claims for techs and others that get sick on the job because Xerox said they had to go to work.

Until the nation is on lock down and told mon essentials need to stay home businesses will operate and are going to work and need their printers worked on. And even after that health care is our one of our biggest sector of clients. They have protocols that involve and require by law to provide patients with printed documents. I understand the concern for your health. But not much of an option right now. People out of work left and right. Gloves and mask should be worn if you feel it’s appropriate. But if you want xerox to protect you I think that shipped sailed years ago. Complain to eh&s team. Maybe they have some guidelines for you.

Not even providing masks or gloves for techs in the field, knowing that some customers are being test for possible infection. Should be getting hazard pay. Servicing a school isn’t essential work.
