Have any Contractors been called back by FCA?
Is Chrysler calling back contractors?
yes, been "temporary" lay off since Tuesday afternoon, at least all from my contract house, and not just engineering.
no benefits if you are under a work visa
I believe the heavy hit areas are engineering, development and project based positions. FCA was busting at the seams in Auburn Hills with 6 big launches over next 2 years.
Are you all able to obtain state unemployment while on this freeze?
It is not true that all contractors were laid off. I don’t know where the line of demarcation is, but in my organization, the ratio of contractors to direct hires is on the order of 80% to 20%.
I am a contractor. I was not laid off yesterday.
Yes. As of 5pm yesterday, all FCA contractors at CTC were laid off. I am one of them.
Our benefits end on March 31
Are you still getting benefits from your Contracting Companies?
Yes. That’s true. As far as I know, at least hundreds of contracts are being “paused” on their assignments for at least 3 weeks.
They have to pay the direct employees bonuses this month, had to get the funds from somewhere
Yes, I was one of them!
Not all but most contractors were asked to stop working effective immediately.
The contracting companies mentioned that this is most probably a "pause/freeze" in the contract until the lockdown is in place and that there is a good chance most of us will be called back.
However, they did ask us to submit our company laptops in the next day or two.
Hope these hard working people get called back, unbelievable how big companies act once their balance sheet is threatened. Auto industry headed for rough couple years
YES...absolutely true......all contractors at least in PD, Propulsion...thousands
True No Advanced Notice or Reason, Thousands
Did they keep anyone? How many?
True, All contractors laid off today
