Look, person below right. I talk half the day, I dont do good work, but I make sure to kiss a*s till they toes tingle, buy my manager things when out on trips. And I talk a lot in meetings even if mostly nonsense. They like that OK. I also pretend tobe busy. When presenting I take all credit and make it seem like it was all me.
To the person saying "how hard is it to stay out of the bottom 4%" It's not so simple at Mattel. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder: if you don't fit in to whomever is in charge of your Mattel destiny, you are in trouble. There are PLENTY of people still at mattel who've lasted for years but hould have been gone a long time ago. But somehow those people have found a way to be in good standing even though their work is c-ap, they're under-qualified, lazy, or a pain for others to deal with. It's up to the management you work under: what type of person they like, what their rules are, etc. What's most important at Mattel is being able to play the game your management plays. And no I did not get laid off or fired, I left on my own terms because I was tired of that c-ap.

Yep, bottom 4% got the boot. c'mon folks, how hard is it to stay out of the bottom 4%? With this great WFH due to pandemic, you can work 2 hours a day and still stay out of the bottom 4%.

May the forth be with us all on May the fifth, which is both Cinqo de Mayo and "come to Jesus day", AKA Mattel Q1 earnings report day. This Corona virus is a convenient excuse, a huge carpet under which Mattel will sweep all past sins, inefficiencies, poor choices, TRU, headwinds, etc. Our "executive team" will never lose sleep, money, or stature throughout this disaster. Jojo was supposed to leave by now but he didn't. "Management" is nothing but a good-old-boy club on a joyride raiding Mattel's coffers. What a shame that our once-great company ends not with a bang but a whimper.
Yep it’s true, all layoffs will happen before earnings release on Tuesday afternoon. Thank God the brilliant executives gave themselves and everyone else raises and bonuses last month. How stupid to not rethink that and save some jobs. But hey, they lined their pockets so that’s all that matters.
