I’am from Gateshead and totally agree with your statement stonehouse. But don’t tarnish everyone from Gateshead with the same brush. We aren’t all like the down syndrome with the Nov cap on.

No disrespect, never nice to see people lose jobs (although with the shower of s**t known as NOV it goes with the territory)) but some smug boys who crassly came down to Stonehouse carving up the equipment may be now laughing on the other side of their faces. Perhaps it will be time for stickers on your machinery soon?
No class, no respect!

I thought NOV at Gateshead had plenty work on the books?

46 is alot, but I've heard NO rumours about closure in this instance.

I'd be careful about naming or intimating specific people.

Let's see if they get rid of any managers, some are decent but others we have visibility of spend most of there time in meetings, then another meeting to discuss the meeting. We had 2 mangers with the same title for what reason. Then voldermort gets a job that was never advertised in the board. Corrupt to the core, supposed to be transparency but only when it fits the agenda. Rumour is the sales manager is moving to get more protection from his mate. Someone from upper management needs to take a good luck and have conversations with people who don't get a voice. I am in a group who is at risk and my limited years will no doubt put me out the door when I am more capable than others but that counts for nothing if manager has your back. Even if I survive when the dust settles I will be moving on as soon as possible. Worst ran factory I have worked at, ask a question or rock the boat and card is marked forever. Improvement ideas, question the system. How dare you.

It's not the people working the overtime that's the problem it's management signing it off without any questions. More bothered getting involved with other c-ap that adds no value. If I could be working 15, 20,25 hours overtime a week I would do the same! Double wage for just showing up and being there, appearance money. The issue is good lads will lose there jobs and this behaviour will continue. No need for supervisors on overtime, same for office staff managers and supervisors who bang on about how many hours they work. It's non constructive and if they need to work all hours I would be questioning there efficiency. Anyway sure there will be people in at the weekend as usual.

I take it in one comment about 20hours overtime you were talking about the most useless inept supervisor wilson

Sounds like time is up for the majority lazy and unskilled,... let’s be honest lads we’ve had a good run, I’m a skilled, qualified tradesman so I will walk straight into another job but I will say good luck to the others in seeking work in the future.

Absolute feel for everyone during this time as this was a great facility under Robert. I was chopped on last round after over 20 years. Matrix marked by management was nothing but a joke, low score for product knowledge was final kick. I would never return but if your in the click you get high marks. Hope this time independant managers and directors are involved. Good luck everyone.

40 plus is correct, all areas of shop floor, and a few office departments. Let's hope the upper management in other locations are involved and not the inept managers on site who simply cover for each other and remain untouchable and make people redundant who could replace them. They are good at spreadsheet but contribute nothing. Smae for supervisors who invent overtime to get there standard 20 plus hours overtime that is signed off by inept managers. How about looking at qualifications for supervisors in let's say fitting section who are not time served but do have relatives in high places. Us on shop floor will pay the price again in the cycle of redundancies and people in charge will remain doing the useless jobs they have done for the past 5 years. This used to a good place to work being ruined by a few.
