Thread regarding Neiman Marcus Group layoffs

This is not good

No matter what they say, the longer this lasts the higher the chance is that some of the stores - if not all of them - will never reopen. The situation was bad here as it is, the pandemic seems to be just the final nail in the coffin. I think everybody should be prepared for this eventuality.

This is a toxic asset. Everyone knows this.

The folks that gave them some money are just that, fools. Some people just like to light money on fire to watch it burn. Those are the ones who own these garbage binds. 😂

It's almost a certainty that a lot of the stores will not re-open if NM walked into a bankruptcy court. Many of these poorer performing stores were on borrowed time. NM does have some key locations that may interest a buyer (whoever it may be).

I hope that all store employees who have been furloughed are moving on and are not waiting for NM to call them to return to work.
