Just got laid off, how many is it this time? What are they up to know, like 1,800 lay offs since december?

As difficult as it probably is to hear that you've been laid off, anyone still getting a severance package might actually be the lucky ones. I honestly think more and more layoffs are coming and the likelihood of the loss of severance is great. Every time I see another round completed, i know each of us left will have to work longer hours and harder tasks with fewer resources all with our demise looming over our heads. Makes for a WONDERFUL workplace.
Moving IT "service desk" to India didn't work out so well. Repair will fare no better. if you are on furlough will they try to call you in when stuff breaks and the kids can't fix it? "Small" thinking says AT&T will gobble up Wireline, Software powerhouse will emerge from the ashes. Don't forget to wear your PPE! What happens if you don't sign your NDA? No severance?

with others. Good luck with that. Some of those signing them also
are part of a non compete. The amount of your separation was not
to be discussed. Some people were valued more than others and were
taken care of.
As of June 1st those remaining employees are going to
have to take 1-3 weeks of furlough this summer to try and extend
out your time. If you have not been approached by your manager
or director you will in the coming weeks. You cannot take PTO
in lieu of furlough. I would recommend taking as much time off between now and July/August
as it won't be there in September.
Either way we are all hosed in the end thanks to genius of the LR5.

I’ve worked in LR for 15yrs. All the talk around here is the plan is to cut 20% of the workforce by the time we emerge from bankruptcy. Plan is to spread the layoffs out across different states to avoid any reporting requirements and avoid any bad press. Things are about to get even more difficult in the coming months here at Windstream. Hang in there, they do have a plan. Just can’t cause a panic because a much smaller workforce is part of the plan. Shutting down this large TDM network is the end game, but a few thousand employees support that part of the business and will no longer be needed
I also heard at the Greenville office there was an NDA signed about how many and who was being laid off.
Some where told to work 2 weeks and then they are done some were just sent home and some got severance packages.
What kind of package are they offering for those let go?
All Repair and all NOC teams are being outsourced overseas. They aren’t quite done yet. Not a single job is safe at Windstream.

Seeing a few names removed in my Microsoft Teams list, replaced with their e#. They longer appear in the online directory. These were people in my NOC list that I used to group contacts. Also noticed the one person I could get help from with WinBuy is no longer here too.

Appears to have affected all repair teams across the board. Managers and techs. Not sure about service delivery. I work in the field and haven't heard of any outside yet.
